True Life Men's Ministry

Changed lives are the goal of the True Life Men’s Ministry.  Since 1911, tens of thousands of men have come through the doors of the City Rescue Mission. Through several different approaches, the True Life Men’s Ministry cares for those in need.

Community Feeding Program

The Community Feeding Program provides one hot meal every day (including holidays and weekends) to any hungry individual.  For many, this is the only meal that is eaten that day. The overall goal of this program is to assist the homeless and poor with better nutrition and to use the meal as a bridge to establish a relationship.  Hope does begin with a meal at the City Rescue Mission.

Crossroads Shelter Program

The Mission’s Crossroads Shelter Program provides short-term shelter (usually one to 90 days), food, and casework to help homeless men get established in the community. The over-all goal of this program is to help the homeless to improve their quality of life and become self-sufficient.

Covenant Cottage Shelter Program

 The Mission's Covenant Cottage Shelter Program provides short-term shelter (usually one to 90 days) to homeless men with children.  The goal of this new facility is to provide a safe place for a family to stay while the father is given the opportunity to maintain his provider status.  This is the only shelter in the tri-county area that provides shelter to homeless men with children.

True Life Recovery Program

The Mission's True Life Recovery Program provides intensive, long-term (usually 11 months) discipleship to those men who are interested in addressing life issues such as bondage to alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, and unemployment.  Each man who participates in the True Life Recovery Program has a safe place to live, food to eat, opportunities to learn good work habits, personal and group bible studies, discipleship, educational opportunities, and access to a compassionate and caring staff.  Each man experiences a life-changing love that empowers him to be completely restored...a new creation.  Admittance to program is after successful evaluation in Crossroads Program.
