Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals:

Individuals have many opportunities to have a rewarding experience volunteering here at the City Rescue Mission.  Here are some examples of volunteer opportities for individuals:

  • We need help in our Family Care Food Bank to answer phones, pack food orders, stock shelves, etc.  We are also seeking folks to assist in the Inter-Church Food Bank from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. 
  • Help prepare and/or serve a meal.  We serve 3 meals a day, 7 days a week.
  • We are in need of persons with experience to assist with organization and overall menu/meal planning in our Kitchen/Dining Hall.
  • Our True Life Men's Ministry needs men who can assist at the Front Desk in the evenings and can answer the telephone and share a warm smile and kind word of advice to men in need.
  • Men to act as Bible Instructors  for our Life Recovery and Advanced Discipleship classes.
  • Help us in the Administrative Office or our Family Care Ministry (weekday, daytime) with general office duties and/or data entry.
  • Help beautify our facilities with outdoor lawn and garden clean-up.
  • The Sankey Youth Program needs tutors, coaches, and craft/cooking instructors.  Come for an hour or two a week and watch a child's life being transformed.
  • If you like to take pictures, we need you!  We need someone to take pictures of the daily activities of the Mission.  Opportunties are available for all times and days of the week.
  • Do you have graphics or publishing talent?  Help us make our web site and printed publications shine.
  • If you have a special talent, please let us know!  We likely will have a need for it!
