Thanks to all of you who recently participated in our recent Matching Gift Challenge.  I am so encouraged by those who generously helped us by establishing the Matching Gift and for all of you who responded to the Challenge.  Each year as summer approaches, I find myself wondering how God will provide the extensive resources that we need to continue our ministries during the summer months, a time when financial donations and volunteer service usually decline.  Thanks to your support of the Matching Gift Challenge, we are in a better position to begin our summer ministries like our outreach to urban, at-risk youth at our Sankey Center. 

We still need continued prayer and support, however, because we are seeing increasing need for our Family Care Food Bank ministry and our Community Meal Program.  As you are very aware, food prices have increased tremendously over the last several months.  Many homes have been hit hard with rising food and gasoline prices.  As a result, more families need help from us, and at the same time, our donations of food have dropped significantly.  (If you would like to help by donating food see our Most Needed Items Page for ideas on how you can help.)

We continue to count our blessings that the City Rescue Mission can offer shelter and food for many in our area who need it.  More people than ever need us to provide nutritious meals throughout the summer months.  I pray that you will do what you can to help us today.  Please visit our Donation Page to learn more about how you can help us financially or visit our Volunteer Page to learn more about how you can assist us through your service.
