Does it seem like a dollar doesn't go very far anymore?  It won't buy you a cup of gourmet coffee or a gallon of gas, but here at the City Rescue Mission, even $1 can help change a life forever.

Scores of men, women and children turn to the City Rescue Mission for assistance every day.  Some are struggling with mental and physical illness or addictions...still more are on the edge of homelessness...and others are already on the streets.  You can help transform their lives by making a small investment in the ministry of the City Rescue Mission that will reap a big reward:  the homeless and hurting in western Pennsylvania will have food, shelter, Christian counseling and a chance to start life anew.

We need your partnership right now more than ever before.  Landlords who might "carry" those behind in their rent during the cold winter months, are more likely to evict them during the summer.  Utility companies shut off services.  Family food bills go up with children home from school for the summer.  The homeless, near-homeless and working poor who have nowhere else to turn will look to us for their survival.

To make things even more challenging, curing June, July, and August, when the need is so great, giving to the Mission drops off signficantly.  Alarmingly, we've already seen giving drop by 23 percent during the first quarter of the year, and we haven't even hit the hardest summer months yet!  And as summer donations slow...the need does not disappear.
